Position:         Mental Health Crisis Therapist

FLSA Status: Salary           

Salary:            $55,000-75,000 based on experience and licensure

Supervision:   Clinical Director

Business Hours:         Monday -Thursday 8a-7pm, Friday 8 am to 5pm (hours to be determined upon hire with 1 late night until 7pm required.)

 

Position Description: Elevate Housing Foundation operates as a crisis therapy clinic, with the focus being patient centered care and supporting clients on their recovery. This position is not a traditional therapist position, as you may have clients you see a few times or you may have clients who need ongoing routine sessions for a period of time before they are ready to transition. This position is responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, collecting and updating social history information, development and monitoring of treatment plans and for providing individual, and family counseling and when needed and crisis counseling. The mental health crisis therapist may be asked to facilitate group crisis counseling, support groups and psycho-educational groups if needed. The goal of this position is that of connecting individuals in a behavioral health crisis to services as well as reducing future crisis calls, ED visits, police involvement, and hospitalization. This may include short term-solution focused therapy for those who identify as being in a behavioral health crisis at the time of admission.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Complete diagnostic evaluations in a timely manner required and make recommendations regarding level of care needed to respond to current behavioral health symptoms.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients related to their diagnosis and symptoms utilizing appropriate theories and evidence-based practices.
  • Work with clients to interpret and deal effectively with their needs. Involve family systems in treatment planning to facilitate meeting the client’s clinical needs.
  • Maintain multi-disciplinary working relationships with clinicians and other related professionals in the community. This will include making appropriate referrals, sharing of clinical information within HIPAA guidelines, and providing clinically appropriate multi-disciplinary interventions and collaborations.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, prepare and complete clinic progress notes, assessments, reports, schedules, and other material required as a function of the position.
  • Meet all documentation requirements as defined by organizational policies.
  • Fully participate in staff development opportunities offered to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.
  • Participate in planned supervision and case consultation conferences as necessary.

·         Provide direct therapy to members, families, and/or groups identified as having mental health and substance use disorders.

       Treat crisis situations and emergencies as needed (crisis psychotherapy)

       Be willing to provide clinical supervision for therapists obtaining licensure.

       Complete evaluations within the specified timeframe, including long- and short-term goals.

       Complete progress reports on all patients within specified timeframes

       Complete all objective documentation in accordance with department and Elevate policies.

       Respect confidentiality of member records and treatment

        Other duties as required and assigned by treatment team or clinical director

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

        Minimum LMSW seeking licensure.

       LISW, LMHC, LMFT licensed in the State of Iowa -Preferred

       Experience treating mental health disorders and co-occurring disorders.

       A big heart and a true desire to help improve the quality of life and have a meaningful impact on the individuals you serve.

       Ability to be flexible in a new growing agency
